These concepts need to be addressed
because A. they reflect the most likely human bias of Michael Newton and his clients
and B. they can create anxiety for newcomers learning about spirituality,
painting the afterlife as an overwhelming alien place of learning instead of a
magical more ethereal realm where education is properly mixed with divine love
and understanding.
Toxic
Concept 1: Traveling (“Transition”)
The subject
mentions, “We are all swimming along in a swift current which we can’t
control…”
Souls appear to be carried along busily against their will to
their destinations, instead of having the option to teleport there privately
with their spirit guides. Why do they need to go along specific routes when
they can be in multiple places at once? Traveling in crowded areas, with some
souls not being comfortable with it, would clash with their free will.
Toxic
Concept 2: Group Separation (“Transition”)
Concept of
“hives” “cliques”
Soul’s
father “has to stay where he is” because “he does not belong in my hive” –
Another
says, “I’m too busy with the people I’m supposed to be with…people I know and
love.” “That is their place.”
Forcing
souls away from their family members, including pets and companions of
different species, because of evolution and status...is a direct violation and
disrespect of a soul’s dignity and desire for love. The soul has no free will
to stay with family but is forced to go to their soul group. There is no time
to process memories with family or allow for necessary healing before reuniting
with the soul’s older group. Souls are separated by levels of development, with
no time to reunite with families after many years. It is like a child about to
meet with their parent after a long day of school, but suddenly ushered along
to their classmates against their will to reflect on their day instead.
Meanwhile their friends are in the more popular older groups, putting pressure
on the younger ones to catch up to them. If all souls are part of Source, then
there should not be any need for separate groups or labels. They are divided
like children in grade levels, with the “lower” developed souls more likely to
be scrutinized.
In addition,
souls may be closer to some than others, but the whole point of incarnating is
to learn to love everyone and everything…without unconditional love, there is
no Source. Separation and duality are necessary learning tools for the physical
world, to contrast the universal harmony in the spirit world. Why would that be
the case in a world beyond our human limitations? (There is also little mention
of animals, pets, plants, or companions of different species in Newton’s
afterlife, which is very disappointing.)
Although
soul groups are comprised of a soul’s primary group that incarnates together,
this should not invalidate the soul’s strong bond with their previous mortal
families, regardless of evolutionary level. After all, the soul choose to be
with their parents before birth in the first place. With coming into a new
world, the soul has a divine right to adjust accordingly, and make up for lost
time with their loved ones if needed. Being forced to reflect fast also implies
a rush to evolve and complete lessons, despite the fact that no time or all
time exists on the other side, therefore it should be irrelevant.
Toxic
Concept 3: Souls sorted into man-made levels (“Placement”)
In JOS,
souls are ranked by aura colors, from white as a beginner, to red, yellow for
intermediate, and blue/purple for the advanced. Green, pink, orange, and other
colors found in the human aura are not included. This premise is based on the
New Age idea that colors, specifically chakra colors can be ranked from the
physical (red, orange, lower chakras) to the more ethereal chakras (third eye,
crown, with violet colors). It also claims that suns shine hotter in
yellow/blue colors rather than red. The problem is, souls are not suns…they
have a variety of colors that always change, especially as humans. Why would
blue and purple be “superior” colors to red/orange? Even though purple and blue
often refer to spirituality and expanding the mind, there is much that can be
learned from nature (green), love (pink), passion and drive (red), mentality
(yellow) etc.
This also
reinforces the human belief in separation, of souls being put into boxes based
on their colors and evolution. God/Source is all colors, so in essence, all
souls are equal. The only difference is the level of awareness and experience a
soul has with incarnation and understanding of the universe. Some master guides
can have many colors, not just blue and purple.
Toxic
Concept 4: No choice in spirit guides (“Our Guides”)
These spirit
guides portrayed in JOS don’t seem to have too much compassion for their
clients. They may want what is best for them like a mentor, but they don’t seem
to fully merge with their clients’ memories and feelings. Spirit guides are
supposedly assigned to us, without any two-way discussions about the
relationship. If a spirit guide does not work in the best interest for the soul
or doesn’t protect them from any danger, the relationship supposedly is
binding, like a bad marriage with no hope of a divorce or at least a
compromise. Not only that, the spirit guides “take the brunt of any
dissatisfaction.” In other words, fate and the person’s actions are not taken
into consideration…the guides themselves are judged based on how well their
client completed their mission! Shouldn’t there be no judgment at all in the
spirit world and no rush for souls to evolve to the “end?” The guides have
their own afterlives and time that is also needed to reunite with their many
families.
As to why
souls are divided into groups: it would be a “poor system at one grade level.”
But this is a world beyond our human comprehension. Who says that lower levels
and higher levels cannot interact and learn from each other? Although souls may
like to stay in clusters, they should be free to interact with anyone at will.
After all, souls can all read each other’s minds, each lifetime and lesson is
unique for them. Souls are ageless, all students and teachers at once…even the
master guides and Source are always learning.
One subject
says, “We get glimpses…as an incentive to encourage us to make that final
effort to finish our work and join the masters.”
Can souls do
other tasks other than watching over mortals on Earth or joining master guides?
If most of
humanity is at the beginner/intermediate levels, why are there not aliens and
higher non-human beings in the levels 4, 5, and beyond?
Toxic
Concept: souls stereotypes based on advancement(“Advanced Souls”)
It is
implied that souls are somehow “separate” from God/Source, despite already
being part of it. They have a blind desire to be absorbed into Source, but
cannot do so until they have completed all their incarnations (and supposedly
go beyond the Council of Elders). If this the destiny for all souls, it appears
to be troublesome, stressful, and boring. Why is there only one path to God?
What about the souls who never incarnate?
Toxic
Concept 5: All trauma is “pre-chosen” by us! (“Life Selection”)
Now for the
worst part of many spiritual texts, which makes me mistrust God, guides, the
universe, and my own soul…for good reason. I still can’t, as a human understand
why souls would volunteer to be born into people who die from murder, defects,
or early tragic deaths…even if soul group members learn lessons from their
grief, it only brings more trauma for that soul into the next life. “Choosing”
disabilities, disasters, diseases, and abusive parents, all “chosen,
predestined by everyone?!” How illogical! What were our reckless souls
thinking?! The worst part of New Age beliefs is the assumption that all trauma
is somehow “our fault” and that victims of horrific acts “choose” all of them
for growth. Evil-doers get a pass. (Who would want any soul in their soul group
family decide to rape/murder them on purpose just to evolve…where is the unconditional
love?) With free will and fate being combined, I refuse to believe that all the
horrible things are “chosen” by us…unless there is karma involved, accidents
and unexplained tragedies are a part of life…the New Age community refuses to
take true accountability to face our physical reality. The “guides” in JOS and
DOS sound like entitled detached college mentors rather than true gurus/family.
“Rebirth” “The child has no free choice in
accepting or rejecting the soul”…so free will does not exist after all.
Destiny
of Souls
Destiny
of Souls Toxic Concept 1: Reprimanded For Mortal Mistakes (“Soul Group
Systems”)
Souls are
being punished for “wasting their bodies given to them” a.k.a. suicide, not
fulfilling their missions. (ex. the soul not being allowed in the music room,
despite the fact that the rules go against the soul’s divine free will to
create. Souls making the “wrong” choices in crisis situations despite some
spiritual teachers claiming there is “no right and wrong.” This implies that
there is judgment from the guides, not unconditional love. Although libraries
and classrooms might be nice for some, other souls may find that environment
constraining/boring. Where are the alien worlds and time travel?
Council of
Elders – soul stands in the center of a vast chamber with Council of Elders in
front of them on a raised table. The spirit guide stands in the background,
like a lawyer for the newcomer soul. A more comforting scenario would be the
spirit’s personal council, seated with them at a round table as equals. There
is no mention of Jesus, Buddha, or other Ascended masters being part of the
Council of Elders. It seems that evolution for the Source and a divine bureaucracy
is all the spirits seem to care about…never mind human morals and feelings.
Destiny
of Souls Toxic Concept 2: Separation from Animals (“Community Dynamics”)
“The Animal
Caretaker said there is a division between the land, water and air groups.” Animal
souls “exist in different spheres from that of the human soul.” Why would
animal souls need to be separated from human souls, when all spirits are one
with Source? There is no need for labels or separation because animal souls
become divine and telepathic and smart like every other soul. Animal souls
don’t need any caretakers to reunite or interact with their human souls; love
knows no bonds; it cannot and should not be divided. Heaven is not heaven
without our animal and plant companions by our side, no boundaries required. I’m
surprised that the Council of Elders don’t also consists of divine alien beings
or even animal-like beings besides the advanced human-like entities.
“Energy is
assigned to certain mortal forms” (humans stay humans, and animals stay
animals). This contradicts Source’s desire to experience and learn from every
kind of being. If souls incarnate as different genders, and races, why not incarnate
into different species to experience their perspectives of life? Newton calls a
human a “higher form” and an animal a “lower form” which, in a deeper spiritual
sense is false. Why? Although humans may be more complex, they do not have the
instincts nor connections to nature and spirit that animals do. All souls are
one, “inferior” and “superior” are manmade concepts we use to try and
understand the world through our limited perspectives. (I’d argue that animal
souls may be more advanced than ours, since we still have a lot of work to do
in caring for our planet!) To truly master unconditional love, we must be many
humans but also many beings to fully appreciate existence itself.
Destiny
of Souls Toxic Concept 3: Limited lives to choose from (“Ring of Destiny”)
I find it
disheartening that souls can only choose between three lives and not other
species to learn from. This contradicts other accounts of people talking about
being aliens on other planets or mythical creatures in other realms. Just
focusing on human lessons and karma (and not the good parts of mortal
existence) sounds really depressing. Surely our souls were created for more
than just learning lessons and evolving back into God. There needs to be more
freedom than this etheric bureaucracy.
As for the
spirit games they play…why not also enjoy the great moments and memories of
life on Earth and other worlds? And the Council of Elders…I think each soul
should have their own, instead of a dozen to try and represent all souls.
Destiny
of Souls Toxic Concept 4: Karma (“Ring of Destiny”)
There is no
definite proof that our lives represent all our past life deeds. Since everyone
has done horrible acts in past lives, why do some people live harmonious lives
and other innocent people have to suffer? (one group “volunteered” to be killed
in a disaster…what “lesson” does that serve other than grief and more trauma?
Sometimes I think life is more a “trap” than a real “school” if these horrific
events are excused and dismissed so easily). The soul can supposedly choose to
die/lead the human host into an accident, but suicide is deemed “wrong?” Not to
mention all the evil souls who can roam around on Earth and attach to
defenseless mortals…guides not telling newton information and being secretive…the
guides and guardians don’t seem to do their job 100%. As souls, we should
decide and know what group we belong to and guides that are right for us…not
assigned by some other mystery force.
Destiny
of Souls Toxic Concept 5: Evolution level determines your eternal identity (“Soul
Group Systems”)
Here are
more overly structured, restraining groups that attempt to label and divide
complex soul beings that are beyond learning levels and human understanding.
Souls should not have to compare themselves to other souls, nor be forced to
catch up with the master guides and complete reincarnation right away. Hierarchies
and labels are for the physical world…for societies who do not have the
abilities to understand everyone’s needs like the spirit world and other
advanced alien worlds. I’m hoping for a world where the Source is not just a purple
distant “Presence,” but an all-encompassing healing energy of infinite
knowledge that all souls can access anytime…a Source that actually interacts
with us and cares for us.
The (Hopefully)
True Afterlife:
In my
opinion, a book that describes a more equal and genuine spirt world is “Beyond
Reincarnation” by Joe. H. Slate. Souls are not separated from anyone, even
other species and all souls’ needs are valued, not just the master teachers.
Souls are only “separated” by experience, “higher evolved” instead of
“superior.”
