“Even
the greatest professional medium cannot do his work alone. He has help from his
Friends on the Other Side…literally.”
A
day in the life of the Soul Whisperer
What would life be like
if you could see dead people?
Being born a psychic
medium isn’t all fun and games. Sure, you lose your fear of death (mostly), and
you can live a life of fame and admiration if you’re skilled enough. But with
great superpowers comes even greater responsibilities. It was obvious that
Rhode Island medium Matt Fraser was chosen for a special mission by fate and
genetics alike: to be an ultimate messenger between the living and the dead.
But even a busy
communicator like Matt needed some serious R and R. Whenever he wasn't being observed
by his Italian mother like a hawk or surrounded by scrambling spirits desperate
to send their signs, he could temporarily bring his mind to peace. After all,
the man needed sleep and quality time with his family. Matt remembered relaxing
with his wife on a sandy beach, talking about their new baby boy Royce.
“Do you think our son
will have psychic ability?” Alexa asked, lounging on a chair, and popping a
small desert she made into her mouth. A diamond wedding ring glinted on her
finger.
“I wouldn’t be
surprised,” Matt replied, resting close to her. “With you, me, Mom, and Grandma
having psychic powers in various degrees, it’s highly likely. You said yourself
that he connected to you in your dream. I don’t know if he’ll be a medium per
se, we’ll just have to see.”
“And he could very well
be as ‘normal’ as can be,” Alexa mentioned. “I don’t want the public to put so
much pressure on him. He’s still just a baby.”
“I agree,” said Matt. “But
if he has psychic powers early, I’ll be there to comfort him once he gets starts
seeing spirits for the first time like I did. I remember all the things my grandmother
taught me: spirits were once human like us, and one day we will become just
like them. They’re not foreign invisible ghosts looking to torment us. It takes
patience, courage, and a willingness to listen.”
Alexa nodded, sipping on
a colorful iced drink in a wine glass. “And if he’s born like an ordinary
child, that will be great, too. People may be disappointed that he can’t see
the future or speak to spirits or something, but that’s on them. It’ll help
having his unique perspective on life.”
For a moment, the couple
relaxed as the sun began to set on the ocean horizon. Towering palm trees swayed
in the evening ocean breeze. Matt contemplated the idea…or fact rather, that
all living things and matter will end up in the same place reunited…animals,
humans, plants, grass, minerals, even bacteria. Nothing on Earth was separate
from each other, even less so in the world of energy.
Matt sighed, a look of
slight concern appearing on his face. “It sure is expensive raising a child
though. I mean, not just the diapers and food and clothes and such. How will Royce
fare in school?”
“We don’t have to worry
too much about money,” she said. “We’re both rich from our shows and videos
after all.”
“But he could easily be
shunned or bullied in school like I was,” Matt mentioned. “We still need to
remember that the vast majority of the world doesn’t understand how the
afterlife works. Even I don’t fully understand it. They either think they’ll be
judged by God and sent to cloud Heaven or fiery Hell, or have to face their
past life karma forever, or worse, that they won’t exist ever again.”
Alexa squeezed his hand
in comfort. “We’ll be able to handle it when the time comes. Yes, there are
many skeptics and ignorant people out there, but look how many lives you’ve
changed with your readings! And readings provided by your Mom as well! You have
your family’s’ support and the support of thousands of followers all over the
world. There are agents and crews and bodyguards to protect our families. I bet
other kids will think twice about picking on our son. He may have lots of
playmates.”
“Yes, I guess you’re
right,” said Alexa. “Just…please don’t involve Royce in the metaphysical world
too much. I want him to have a life as peaceful and child-like as possible. Our
physical world and everyday activities are just as important.”
“Totally agree,” said
Matt. “That’s what our purpose in life is; to learn, love and level up. No
wonder the majority of people can’t see spirits; God doesn’t want them
distracted from their mortal missions.”
“Then why can only the
lucky few see them?” asked Alexa.
“The world needs psychics
and shamans around to help people have faith in things greater than
themselves,” Matt explained. “Like how only a few people can do rocket science
or be savant geniuses. We can all do different things.”
“But your abilities are
off the charts,” Alexa said, impressed. “You can see them and meditate at will.
It takes many psychics years to connect with the other side.”
“Having a psychic mother
and grandmother helps a lot.”
“Still doesn’t seem fair
that so many people can’t interact with their lost loved ones.”
“It only takes a quiet
mind and some faith,” Matt reminded her. “No matter where we go, our loved ones
are always with us. My guides told me I’ll become an Ascended Master in the
afterlife, but that doesn’t mean that everyone else can’t gradually evolve to
that level, and even beyond. We’re all in this together.”
“Still don’t fully get
it,” Alexa admitted.
“We’ll all understand
someday.”
“Well right now, I only
want to understand this present moment…to enjoy my time with you.”
Matt gave his wife a
sweet compassionate kiss. “I couldn’t ask for a better Heaven right here.”

Before long, the sun had
turned the sky a carnelian red which faded to dark indigo. The life-giving orb
had descended into the underworld, preparing for its rebirth in the morning. Dawn,
Day, Dusk, Dark…Birth, Life, Death, Rebirth. It was a cycle that never ended.
Matt and Alexa stood up.
“We better get going
back home,” said Alexa. “I have some pageant interviews tomorrow. Don’t forget
your book signings and recordings.”
“Almost done with the
‘We Never Die’ audio,” Matt smiled. “Man, it’s so fun to read my own books
aloud for people!”
“You have unmistakable
passion and professionalism in your voice,” Alexa replied. “It’s the tone of a
seasoned teacher anxious to share his research with his students. I’m surprised
you don’t teach at colleges or schools. The kids need you.”
Matt shrugged. “I don’t
know how many colleges would allow ‘pseudoscience’ teachings around.”
“Only the best of the
best and then some. Or…you could make a documentary of your daily life, or a
new movie: All Souls Go to Heaven.”
“I already have ‘Meet
The Frasers’ and YouTube,” chuckled Matt. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
They embraced and headed
back to their house.
“Good luck with your
audience reading tomorrow,” said Alexa.
“Same to you with your
show,” Matt said, after the couple posed for several pictures for some
magazines by the balcony.
“You are going to be
great parents,” Matt’s mother, Angela Fraser said, as she spotted them. She
spread Tarot cards on a table.
“Thanks, Mom,” said
Matt.
“I’ll be by to visit
every day, just to make you have everything you need.”
“Great,” said Alexa.
She and Matt made their
way up the stairs of their house/mansion and off to privacy. Though for Matt,
true privacy while being awake was impossible…not just with the living. They
said their goodnights, cleaned up, and slept together in a giant comfy bed.

Buzz…knock, knock,
rustle…buzz, knock, knock…
In the dark, Matt could
feel the presence of several figures hovering around Alexa. He felt the usual
pounding and pulsing of the entities trying to get through the mental barrier
he put up before his short vacation. Already, he was adjusting to the chillness
and tingle of energy from the spirits nearby. He only saw black shadows and
heard faint muffled whispers. He sighed and yawned, closing his eyes.
Matt wasn’t worried. He
sensed the energy of the figures and knew they were deceased family members of
Alexa trying to communicate with him. Images flashed here and there, and words
hovered here and there like they were underwater.
“Angels, spirit guides,
loved ones,” called Matt in his mind. “I request
your help.” He envisioned a white light coming from his head and his third
eye, adding his signature two white feathers intertwined.
In only a few minutes,
his spiritual team appeared by his side and in his mind’s eye. It was a
meditating process that would’ve taken ten to twenty minutes at least for many psychics
and an hour or so for many others. Many people imagined themselves worshipping
spirit guides and angels, but in fact, the relationship was equal, mutual.
Although those in spirit knew more, they always respected the mortal’s free
will. Humans didn’t serve their spirit guides…in fact it was often the other
way around…with the human’s permission and awareness.
A woman with dark curly
hair appeared first as always, her smile warm and her glowing form radiating
love. Behind her, Matt could sense the energy of his ancestors.
“Hello Matthew,”
Mary spoke telepathically to him. “I’m so proud of you!”
“Grandma,”
Matt replied in his head, his heart soaring with joy.
An image of Royce being
held by his grandmother flashed in his head, followed by wedding music. Matt
knew what the message meant; his grandmother had witnessed him and Alexa
getting married…and was now helping to watch over Royce!
Even as a medium, the messages
he received from spirit always stunned him and filled him with emotion.
“I always knew in my
heart you would fulfill your destiny as a medium,”
she said, her telepathic words were emphasized by a vision of Matt as a young
kid, climbing up a moving timeline through a glowing portal. “You and your
mom are changing so many lives.”
Shortly before his
vacation with his wife, Matt had closed off his mind and chakras temporarily
through meditation to lessen the intensity of the messages from spirits nearby.
Although they never went away, the method helped to give his mind a break and
focus more on the real world. It was hard, like pulling a door closed over his
head that was being tugged on by an outside force.
Hovering nearby, one of
the few non-earthly beings with him, was Matt’s guardian angel, a soft-spoken
tall masculine figure. The figure glowed blue and indigo, had white wings and
carried a flaming sword in his hand. He looked like a combination of Jesus and
Archangel Michael with a white robe and long brown hair. Although he was the
one who hinted to Matt that he and his mission was connected to Jesus Christ,
he didn’t elaborate. In fact, the nameless celestial-born angel hardly spoke at
all.
The angel didn’t have a
name, but he had a protective presence. He was more distant from Matt and had
his duty: to protect Matt from negative entities, be a gatekeeper, aid in protection,
and assist with his transition to the other side.
Powerful psychics
required powerful protectors. Without this angel and Matt’s skill in self-protection,
negative entities would’ve rushed to his energy like dark moths to light.
There were more spirit
guides that made themselves known – a cheerful former Italian priest and
psychic named Fantasma, a mixed-race woman who grew up in Egypt, a genderless
Atlantean, a medicine man and farmer, the God Apollo, and even Matt’s lost cat
came bounding over. Fantasma was his guide who had been with him all his life,
the rest came and went.
“Help prepare me to open
myself back up tomorrow and help me get some sleep,” Matt
thought.
Matt help calming energy
flow through him with each deep breath he took. His guides hovered over him
like a blanket, blocking out external noises and easing his worries. After
brief mental bits of advice from hid guides, he felt them fading away into the
black.
A stray tear fell from
Matt’s eye, then several more as he let out repressed emotions and silent sobs.
It was the one time he felt safe to do it without letting other people’s energy
get to him.
A thought burst forth. “Even
though I’m a medium…I’m still very much afraid to die!” Another thought.
“People judging me, questioning my sanity. I want what’s best for Royce and
Alexa.”
“You wouldn’t be human
if you didn’t have that natural instinct,” said Fantasma. A
flash of a skull and a brain relayed the message. “Your journey is far from
over. Do your best but don’t try to save everybody. Be sure to make your
words and intentions clear tomorrow.”
The last thing he felt
was a kiss on his forehead from his grandmother.
“I will always love
you,” she told him in his mind. “Call us…we are just a
thought away.”

Matt stretched and woke
up early in the morning. His grandmother appeared out of the corner of his eye.
“It is time,”
she said.
Opening himself back to
his natural state was seamless...and freeing. It was like breaking open a door
near his head made of tissue paper and removing a blindfold from his eyes. Matt
closed his eyes and cleared his mind. He imagined a door above his crown chakra
opening up and a white beacon light pouring down into his head and body. His
third eye pulsed with energy as it was reopened. A brief buzzing in his ears
and all was silent again. He opened his eyes, got out of bed, and began his
morning routine. He saw his grandmother and guide behind him as he brushed his
teeth and put on his fancy clothes. Alexa woke up and soon got ready for her
day.
Matt opened the door and
greeted his TV crew who were busy setting up cameras. Ignoring the voices and
image flashes in certain spots, Matt headed into a car to travel to a stadium
for the audience reading. Things were relatively quiet when he was in the car.
But the moment he stepped onto a red carpet and headed toward the door, that’s
when things got noisy.
Now Matt enjoyed the
cheers and claps of the crowd who had gathered on either side to take pictures
and buy tickets. Confidence flowed though him as he imagined himself bringing
solace to one grieving family after another. But there was one thing that was
even louder than the honking of car horns, the bustling of reporters and
directors and the cheers of his fans.
In sheer irony, it was
dead people…They. Were. Loud.
“MATT!” one spirit
yelled, almost in his face. For a brief second, Matt thought it was a fan that
had gotten too close. He was a man with white skin, black hair, and 90s
clothing on him, as ordinary as can be. Then he noticed the faint white/golden
glow to the man’s body, the way he moved seamlessly through the air like he was
swimming instead of walking in a human body. He had no wings and no angelic
features…he didn’t even look like a see-through ghost at all. And the way his
eyes glowed with pure light…yep, that was a spirit. Nobody else noticed.
Staring at the man, Matt
heard a message in his head and a flash of an image that grew clearer as he
stared longer. The man’s human name: Jake. A boy and a name: Nathan. A pair of
blackened lungs and a date of death: 11/11/2011. The words “I’m sorry, Maria,”
“Tell my wife and son I’m still here. I watch them both at once. Let them
know about the wedding ring and the bouquet of roses…she’ll know…” A ring
and roses flashed in his head before fading out as Matt shook his head.
“Focus, Matt,”
he heard his guide say. A pair of trickster demons prowled in the shadows
toward depressed people, oblivious to their presence. One blast from his
guardian angel’s sword sent the dark spirits running. Several spirits swam
their way toward Matt, but his guardian angel showed them back with an energy
blast, not even having to move. There were only a few people on Earth who could
maintain such a clear connection beyond the veil. Although time did not exist
on the other side, all the spirits could think about…all they seemed concerned
about for their own happiness and evolution…was connecting to their loved ones on
Earth. Matt was a rare gem of enlightened pure energy, one with a clear third
eye and crown chakra, an aura of white, gold, and purple…
…and all the spirits
knew this.
His name pounded in his
head as he rushed inside. He waited backstage and meditated. He imagined
mirrors facing outward around his body, his angels, guides and loved ones
holding them up and keeping his energy safely inside.
“…America’s top psychic
medium, medium with a message…give it up for Matt Fraser!” called the announcer
as the crowd clapped. Matt walked on stage, smiling, and waving as the audience
settled down. After a brief introductory speech, the room was silent…
…at least in regard to
the living.
“Matt, Matt, Matt!”
the spirits chanted and clamored. Many pushed to get in front of the line,
though there was no arguing. It was like fans pushing to get a better view of a
rock star. They jumped, waved their arms, and stood glowing right behind their
living family members. A little girl spirit with blonde hair and wearing a blue
dress waved her arms and pointed to a woman staring at her phone. “That’s my
momma, Matt!” she cried, her voice having an echo ethereal quality to it. Matt
briefly felt his lungs and chest being crushed…and the smell of smoke and
metal. “Tell her I’m okay from that car accident!” An image of police
tape and a wrecked car…the girl dying at the hospital. Another image of the
girl dancing in Heaven in a meadow with other kids. “I’m on a mission to
watch kids on Ear…”
A purring sound and the
phantom feel of a cat around his legs. Matt saw a gray cat spirit and a black
dog spirit at his feet.
“What the…?”
Matt began in his mind.
“My pups are here!”
barked the dog to Matt. “I love you!”
“My owner is there!”
cried the cat to a sullen man leaning against the wall.
Mat’s cat animal guide
meowed to the other animals. (“Matt does human readings! Go find a pet
psychic!”) The animals vanished.
“Matthew!”
called a spirit woman, an image of a woman knelling at a tombstone burst
forward from her hands. “Tell, my daughter to stop sobbing at my tombstone.
I’m not even there, it’s just my old body remains. Jesus and God are here with
me and with her!”
A gay couple greeted
Matt, their bodies glowing. “Our adopted son misses us and the two of us
fought a lot on Earth. Please tell his girlfriend in this room to send a
message, that his fathers are still with him, happy, and peaceful in Heaven.”
“I’m not addicted to
drugs anymore,” said a spirit man, images of pills and
beer bottles flashing in front of the man’s face. “But I do enjoy some fresh
beer! Death ain’t gonna stop that!” He burped and briefly showed Matt his
Heaven of relaxing in a bar. “Don’t even have to eat and use the bathroom
anymore! But I will, anyway! Yippee!”
“Did not need to know
that,” Matt grumbled to the man in his head as he continued
to amaze the audience with his words.
Another soul appeared in
the shadows to Matt. “I used to be a serial killer and rapist. Now I regret
what I did.” Matt felt himself being burned. “But I still enjoy intimacy
in Heaven. Can you tell all my victims and family I’m sorry and ask for
forgiveness? My Life Review was so fucking painful to watch!” The spirit
sobbed as he hugged one of his daughters he had formerly abused. The daughter
prayed that her father wouldn’t come through.
Matt even saw a floating
baby near a sad woman. The baby sang as it danced on her belly: “I’m being
reborn in two years! I’m being reborn in two years! My momma had a marriage and
suffered a miscarriage! But I’m being reborn in her in two years!”
Matt looked taken aback.
“O-kay…that’s not a meeting you witness every day,” he thought as he
talked.
“Ow!”
called a spirit as another spirit pushed to get in front of the line to Matt. “That
didn’t hurt!”
“So many people talking!”
mentioned a random psychic kid as a spirit flew through an oblivious sitting
human. “Glowing eyes! What do you ghosts want?!”
“Will everysoul in both
worlds just calm down,” called Matt’s grandmother. “Can
anyone hear us?”
…
Crickets chirped as the
living humans relaxed in the stadium, not even noticing the spirits. One man
checked his phone while some kids played pat-a-cake with each other. Many
people were quietly reading Matt’s new books. Peaceful meditative music played
as Matt talked about Heaven and how his readings worked.
…
“Matt! Over here!”
the spirits cried again, a few flying toward Matt and presenting him with
various images of butterflies, feathers and 11s that morphed if he stared long
enough.
“Ha! I can walk again,
and I am free of cancer!” called an elderly spirit who didn’t
look nor act the least bit old.
“I can speak! I can
speak!” cried a formerly mute girl soul. “The Akashic
Records isn’t a physical book nor a spiritual library as humans imagine it.
It’s the same as Universal Knowledge we all have access to!”
A spirit reached his
hands to Matt.
“Hands off the
merchandise!” barked the guardian angel, now
aggressive and protective. He didn’t like anyone else getting in the space of
his mortal spirit-human mentee.
“Please help us, Matt!”
Matt felt phantom chest pains, headaches, stab wounds, and other afflictions
that had caused physical deaths of the souls. Matt’s grandmother was sending
healing energy to Matt as Matt’s soul cleansed itself.
A little kid spirit made
funny faces upside down in front of his mother, who stared right through him.
“It’s been fifty years
since I passed! I WANT MY VOICE TO BE HEAR…”
…
Crickets chirped again. Matt
talked about his books and thanked everyone for being there. The audience
practiced deep breaths, creating a tranquil atmosphere. A soft violin played
nearby just outside the auditorium. A waiter poured glasses of wine for
visiting actors and movie stars. Reporters quietly chatted and wrote down
notes. A boy played a video game on his phone.
…
“Matt Fraser, my family
really needs this message!” cried a group of triplets, pushing
ahead of a man who yelled “I’m sorry!” to his two children in the
audience. Another spirit cried and begged, while many more were just happy
being with family.
“Matt’s got friends on
the other siiiiide!!!” sang two souls, posing near him.
“Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt,
Matt, Matt!” the spirits called, like the seagulls in
Finding Nemo that squawked “Mine! Mine! Mine!”
“Will you all just shut
up!”
Fantasma thought in annoyance as Matt prepared himself to read the audience. “Matt’s
trying to focus here!”
“Order in the court!” cried
another one of Matt’s ancestors.
Matt paused and tried to
focus among the voices, looking for ones that stood out. “Guides,” he
thought.
His spirt team nodded
and surrounded Matt as several spirits zoomed forward. With a booming voice,
Matt’s guardian angel gatekeeper struck his sword down in midair.
“YOU SHALL NOT PASS!”
the angel bellowed without moving his mouth, sending the souls back to their
places behind their family members. “Your future Ascended Master wishes to
speak!”
The souls bowed their
heads in respect and anxiously awaited Matt’s next actions.
Matt breathed a sigh of
relief. “Thank you,” he thought. He made his way up and down the aisles
at random with ease, greeting the souls one at a time. Family members sobbed
and received comforting hugs from the medium. The rest of the readings went
smoothly, though many spirits were disappointed when they didn’t get chosen
like their living family members were. But they soon got over it and morphed
back and forth happily between worlds like usual when the show was done. They
were all joyful like creative little kids 95% of the time.
“You really are amazing,
Matt,” said his guides and angels. “And we’re saying it
because you have proven yourself through your personality and actions.”
“Plus, we all know who
he is at heart,” added his grandmother, “Matt, the medium with a mission.”
“Make that into a movie,
please,” Fantasma suggested. “Oh and add some bonus facts
about me to honor my memory from the 1900s. Did you know that in a past life,
Matt was actually a…”
“Thank you for your
help,” Matt said. He gently pushed his guides away into the
ether and they obliged, letting him focus on his daily life.
Matt looked at the
camera and winked. “Spirit protects me and tells me everything. I could never
be a medium without the help of my wonderful guides…and my higher calling. You
may not see them, but your loved ones are always there in spirit. You will all
be reunited, I promise you. Just be thankful they aren’t as noisy around you!”
FRIENDLY REMINDER: Matt
Fraser is still human, despite his special gift. He is always learning new
things every day and sometimes he misinterprets things. He has a busy hectic
life, he’s made mistakes, he has a family, and many things to attend to like we
do. Although he’s spiritually evolved in retrospect, he has his specialty in
one area. He will do all he can to help humanity evolve in their own ways and
discover who we truly are in this world and the next. He will pass on like the
rest of us, but his legacy will live on for generations. Give him love,
respect, friendship, and space and you’ll have an inspiring humanity teacher
for life.
