A
black-gloved fist struck the air right where a blonde-haired head was a moment
before. The blonde superhero, clad in a tight black body suit, ducked and
retaliated with a swift kick to the enemy’s stomach. With a gasp, the villain
stumbled close to the ground, but soon managed to regain her balance. “What
happened, Timebreaker?” asked the charismatic Chat Noir. “You seemed a little
slow there.” Not replying to his pun, Timebreaker charged forward with a yell,
her black roller skates propelling her forward. As she reached for him, a red
yo-yo with black spots shot toward her feet and wrapped around her legs like
shoelaces in a knot. She fell face first with a flop on the ground, her head
protected by her green helmet. “Spot on, Ladybug,” Chat Noir complimented to his
partner in crime. A girl dressed in a ladybug colored bodysuit strode over to
him, her yo-yo back in her hands. “Thanks kitty,” she teased. Then her face
turned serious just as quickly. “There is no time to celebrate. We must find
out where the akuma is.” Ladybug remembered the dark purple butterflies that
flew into prized possessions of different people and turned them into
supervillains. It was no surprise that another supervillain, hungry for power,
was behind all the trouble. The former high school student-turned villain was
rising to her feet and brushing the gravel from the race track off her legs.
“You morons,” she sneered. “You cannot stop me for long! Soon, I’ll have enough
energy to travel back in time to retrieve my special heirloom watch!” “I don’t
think so,” replied Ladybug, hands on her hips.
Quick
as lightning, Timebreaker sped off into the distance toward the bleachers.
Ladybug noticed her look down at her roller skates as if she were afraid she
would lose them. Then she got an idea. “I bet the akuma is in one of her roller
skates!” “Good thinking, my lady,” said Chat Noir. “Let’s go!” she called
before Chat Noir could react. Chat Noir let Ladybug take the lead. He noticed
Ladybug’s two black pigtails tied with red hair ties bouncing as she ran. ‘Man, how can she be cute and hot at the
same time?’ thought Chat Noir. His thoughts were interrupted when Ladybug
pointed straight ahead. “Look!” she said. “Why isn’t Timebreaker coming after
us?” Timebreaker briefly touched a brown-haired girl who was walking along with
her schoolbooks in hand. She turned around shocked at the action. Her
expression was frozen on her face and her body became transparent.
“Yes,
I got an extra minute!” Timebreaker declared in victory. Red and orange bars
lit up the sides of her roller skates just as the girl vanished from existence.
Up ahead, a crowd was sitting by the field watching a lacrosse game. None of
them seemed to notice the incest-like figure charging toward them. The orange
glowing hourglass on her chest stood out like the marking of a widow spider
about to pounce on prey. Chat Noir’s neon green cat eyes lit up in fear. “She’s
going for the crowd! We have to stop her!” Ladybug had already thrown her yo-yo
at Timebreaker as she kept running. The yo-yo flew closer to the villain’s
arm…and it missed. The yo-yo came back to Ladybug catching noting but air.
“No!” she cried. Timebreaker maneuvered up and down the white bleachers,
touching every shoulder, arm, and head that she could. “What are you doing?” a
person asked in annoyance and fear. Their voices were drowned by Timebreaker’s
laughter and strange sparks of electricity in the air. “Wow, five extra
minutes! This should work perfectly!” Her roller skates now had bars of yellow
and green light that reached to the top of her footwear. She was about to skate
again when she stood still with a slight tremble. Something…or someone was
holding her back.
After
a moment, Timebreaker turned around to face Chat Noir and Ladybug. “Before I
go, I am going to need your Miraculouses.” Chat Noir put his fingers
protectively on his silver ring and Ladybug checked to see that her spotted
circular earring was safe on her ear. “Do it now, or both of you will
disappear!” she ordered, holding out her hand. As worried as they were, there
was no way that they would give up their talismans of power…at least not
without a fight. “Let’s face it, we don’t have time to lose at this battle,”
stated Chat Noir, aware of his timely puns. A growl escaped from Timebreaker’s
mouth and her blue eyes glared from behind the neon green glass plates of her
helmet. She raced forward and spread out her arms. Ladybug and Chat Noir dodged
to the side at the same time. Ladybug lifted herself up and walked to Chat
Noir. Chat Noir was about to get up when he saw Ladybug holding out her hand.
“How…how did you get up so fast?” he asked grabbing hold of her hand. “One of
my many talents,” she replied, pulling him up.
They
looked and saw waves of blue electricity and orange sparks flying from
Timebreaker’s roller skates. Invisible waves of energy moved in a spiral
pattern behind the heroes. The scenery appeared to shrink and move to the east,
warping the surroundings. “She’s going back in time!” called Chat Noir. She
raced full speed ahead. “Don’t let her touch you!” said Ladybug. “Cataclysm!”
yelled Chat Noir. Black energy spread from his hand and snaked across the
concrete ground. Cracks opened up in front of them, insuring that Timebreaker
would trip and Ladybug could grab the roller skates. Defying time and logic,
Timebreaker leaped over the hole in the ground, flying closer to the portal,
which now glowed light blue. Ladybug and Chat Noir moved backward to avoid
her…and all three got sucked inside.
White
balls of light zoomed past them in a never ending abyss of black. “Lucky Charm!”
cried Ladybug, throwing her yo-yo in the air. “A stick?” she asked in confusion
at the black spotted red object. “What can I do with this?” “Maybe try using it
as a wand?” Cat Noir suggested. “And use it to get us out of… ahh!” A strong
force pulled them further, causing the wand to fly out of Ladybug’s hands.
“No!” she exclaimed. “What’s going on?” shouted Timebreaker. “Where is the
school? I should be going back by n…” a blow from Cat Noir’s silver stick
knocked her out. He was about to say something to Ladybug when they felt
themselves being pulled further back. Finally, they felt the ground on their
backs and the force on their bodies fade.
Chat
Noir woke up first, to a beeping sound coming from his ring. “Oh no, transform
back…gotta move.” Chat Noir stood up from the ground, legs and arms shaking. Timebreaker
was knocked unconscious on the ground and Ladybug was briefly stirring. He
moved backward and saw black spots for a moment. He also felt a rush of power
and feeling fade from him. He used a nearby tree to steady himself. Before
long, he was back as Adrien in his everyday clothes: orange and white sneakers,
blue pants, a white jacket, and a black shirt with three stripes of yellow,
green, and blue across the top. A black blob fell into his white hands and two
crescents of neon green appeared. It was Plagg, Adrien’s black cat kwami who
had given him his powers. “That…was exhausting,” Plagg mumbled as he slowly
woke up. “I need some camembert cheese, pronto. Adrien rolled his eyes and
looked around. “How am I supposed to find cheese in a place like this?” Tall
pine trees towered over their heads and green grass had fortunately helped
cushion their fall. “How should I know?” Plagg retorted. “I’m too tired to
think right now.” “You’re impossible,” Adrien stated. “I’m Plagg,” he replied.
“And you’re Adrien. You’ll figure it out. And please be quick about it.”
Just
then, Adrien heard a twig snap. “Hide Plagg,” he whispered before Plagg flew
into his jacket pocket. He raised his fists and took a stance. He felt slightly
vulnerable without his sword from jousting class, not to mention being
powerless, but hand to hand combat would have to do. Hopefully he would put a
dent into Timebreaker’s schedule. Coming out from behind a tree was none other
than… “Marinette?” Adrien asked in disbelief. Marinette gasped in return, her
face turning beet red. She wore her usual white flowered shirt, black jacket,
and pink pants. She also carried around her small white purse.
“Oh, uh, hi Adrien! How
did you get here?”
“I could ask you the same
thing,” answered Adrien.
“You go first,” said
Marinette.
Not wanting to disclose
his superhero identity, Adrien made up an excuse. “Well, I was looking for
Alix’s watch after it broke to see if I could fix it, and I…I must have fallen through
a portal and ended up here.”
“Yeah, same thing. I
tried to get away from the fight and I tripped into a portal, head over
heels…not head over heels for you…um, that’s not what I meant,” she stuttered.
“It’s alright,” said
Adrien. “We will find a way out of here. Ladybug always thinks of something.”
“Ha ha, yes she does,” added Marinette with a nervous grin. “Have you seen Chat
Noir?” “Nope,” said Adrien, trying not to look too nervous. “Let’s look around
then,” she said. “You look to the left, I’ll take the right.” “Good idea,” said
Adrien. They ran off in different directions, both of them cautious of
Timebreaker. Marinette heard a yawn and opened her small white purse. “Are you
alright, Tikki?” she asked. The Ladybug kwami stretched and looked at her with
blue eyes. “Good planning ahead, Marinette,” she said, positive as ever, even
in her tired state. Apparently, she had woken up a while ago and had used the
time to rest. “Don’t worry Tikki, I’ll find you some cookies soon. Then I can transform
and stop Timebreaker.” “That’s the spirit!” said Tikki.
Marinette
walked through the forest some more until she saw a clearing up ahead. As she
reached the clearing, she saw that this area was very different than before. It
was a suburban neighborhood with rows of white houses, a gray street, and lawns
with grass ranging from earthy green to dull brown. Rays of the setting sun
shone through a large cloud; a golden outline for a finishing touch. ‘This is a beautiful place’ thought
Marinette, ‘but I really need to get back
to Paris and destroy the akuma.’ Marinette stepped backward and felt
something behind her. Marinette and Adrien turned around and yelped at the same
time. “Gosh Adrien, you scared me!” said Marinette. “Sorry,” said Adrien. “I
didn’t know you were behind me.” Adrien searched his jacket pocket, only to
find that it was empty. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Plagg flying
toward one of the houses. “Darn it,” he muttered. “What is it?” asked
Marinette. “Nothing,” he replied. “Just thought I saw a dog go by. I’ll check
it out. Stay here.” With that, Adrien followed Plagg to the side window.
“What
was that about, Tikki?” asked Marinette. “I don’t know, but I think we should
follow them.” “Good idea,” said Marinette and she followed her friend. She
thought she heard something behind her, but all she saw was a blue jay flying
into a nearby tree. Meanwhile back at the house, the window was part way open,
allowing the smells of food to waft out. A distinct pungent odor floated out,
causing Adrien to instinctively hold his nose. “Ugh, what’s that horrible
smell?” Plagg, however, was inhaling the scent as much as he could. “I know
that smell,” he grinned in anticipation. “It’s yummy camembert!” “Plagg, stop!”
called Adrien, but Plagg had flown through the window to the other side. Adrien
slowly opened the window and was met with black screen. “Darn, I wish I had my
powers back,” muttered Adrien. He raised his fist and punched a hole in the
screen material. “Whoops,” he said. He crawled on all fours as quietly as he
could on the counter, then jumped down softly on the floor.
Adrien
looked around at the kitchen. There was a sink, a white refrigerator, a stove
and several ceramic pet food bowls on the floor. In a nearby trash can, there
was a plastic bag with rotten cheese and within that opened bag was… “Plagg!”
scowled Adrien, running up to the kwami. “Oh, yum! So good,” exclaimed Plagg
between gulps. Adrien made a grab for him, but Plagg easily floated out of
reach. “Lighten up, Adrien,” he said. “We can fool around for a while and you
can transform later.” “You have had enough cheese already,” mentioned Adrien.
“But I still need more,” Plagg answered, flying around with a piece in his
hand. “That’s it,” said a frustrated Adrien. “Plagg, claws ou…argh!” Before he
could finish, he tripped on a crack in the floor and stumbled against the
garbage can. The contents fell on the floor with a crash. Plagg leaned back in
the air, laughing. “Ha ha ha! That was the most hilarious thing I have seen in
decades!” “Great,” muttered Adrien as he stood up and began picking up the
trash from the floor.
“Plagg!”
called a high squeaky voice. Plagg turned around and saw a smiling Tikki. “Oh
hi, Tikki. Long time no see. It’s only been a hundred years or so.” Plagg was
trying to act neutral, but Tikki noticed a faint pink blush on his black
cheeks. Plagg found himself in Tikki’s embrace. He was never fond of affection,
but there was a part of him that loved the hug, deep inside. Tikki let go and
looked at him with big blue eyes. Suddenly, her calm red face turned into one
of anger as she noticed the mess and the new surroundings. “What are you
thinking?!” she asked. “You are putting us in danger and we are wasting time!
We have to get out of here before someone notices us!” “Big deal,” said Plagg,
shrugging his shoulders and recovering from the sudden change in emotions. “No
one is going to come…” he was interrupted by the sounds of footsteps. A black
Labrador made her way in. Plagg gasped and hid behind Tikki. “Aww, is the
fierce Plagg afraid of dogs?” Tikki teased. “N-no I’m not” Plagg stuttered.
“I’m just…greeting her from a distance.” “Shelby,” said a robotic voice. The
voice had come from a speaker attached to her collar. “Is that your name?”
asked Tikki. “It’s nice to meet you!” Shelby barked and wagged her tail. “I
love hamburgers,” said Shelby through her collar. “Get away,” yelped Plagg in
fear. He flew around the kitchen, frantically looking for scraps of food, while
dodging Shelby’s mouth as she jumped. ‘I
have reunited with my long lost kwami friend’ thought Tikki. ‘Now I need to find Marinette.’ She was
about to fly out the window, when she noticed an open glass jar of chocolate
chip cookies. ‘Better get some food
first.’
As
Tikki was munching on some cookies, Plagg flew through the refrigerator, trying
to avoid Shelby. He leaned against the fridge wall right next to a carton of
orange juice as Shelby scratched at the refrigerator door. After the noise
stopped, Plagg breathed a sigh of relief. Shivering from the cold, he searched
for more cheese. “Aww man,” he groaned. “I thought refrigerators could store
everything. Well at least they’re more convenient than the iceboxes and using
salt to preserve other food. I still remember that too-salty cheese in Rome
that made me sick to my stomach…” In a burst of light, the door opened,
revealing an unhappy Adrien. “That’s enough tricks, Plagg,” he said. Plagg
inched further back from Adrien’s hands and, after eying the ceiling, promptly
flew through it. Adrien held out his ring to summon Plagg, but was interrupted
by a loud knock on the door. “Who in Zagtoons could that be?” he asked, closing
the fridge door.
Outside
by the front door, Marinette took a deep breath and waited. ‘Come on, Tikki,’ she thought. ‘I have to transform! Timebreaker could be
here any minute!’ The person who answered the door was not Timebreaker nor
Adrien. A tall brown-haired man wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a guitar
in one hand stood in the doorway. He briefly scratched his brown goatee as he
looked at the newcomer. “Um, how can I help you, miss?” he asked. “Sorry sir.
I’m Marinette and I was coming by too…check on a rodent problem.” “Rodent
problem?” the man asked, eyebrows raised. “Yeah!” said Marinette. “I saw a
mouse scurry through a hole into your kitchen and I wanted to help you get rid
of it.” The man sighed. “You do know that I can call an exterminator for that?
Plus, I have several cats.” He turned around and saw Adrien. “How did you get
in here?” Going with the plan, Adrien added. “Oh, your cats were asleep, so I
was looking for the mouse earlier. Now I need to…” He looked up in the distance
and saw Plagg sticking his small tongue at Adrien and flying away. “…check on
my pet. Gotta go!” With that, he chased after Plagg into another room.
Marinette smiled nervously at the stranger. “Well, I should look for that mouse
some more. What’s your name?” “Steve Cash,” he said, still confused after
Marinette disappeared into the hallway. “If you can’t catch that mouse, you’d
better leave this house in ten minutes!” he called to them.
Settling
on a brown, cat bed, Plagg made himself at home. At first glance, no one would
notice the black kwami curled up in a black ball, blending in well with the
bed. No one that is, except a dark figure lying nearby who had slowly opened
its yellow eyes.
“Ahh,
much better” said Tikki, patting her full small stomach. Her red antennae
picked up movements from outside. It wasn’t the slower motions of a human; it
seemed to match the quicker pace of an animal. No, animals more likely. Tikki
flew out of the cookie jar and looked around. Her senses had proven correct: a
bunch of gray kittens were play-fighting beside a white and black mother cat,
but still no sign of Marinette. “Marinette, where are you?” she called.
“Yooooou” meowed a gray kitten named Gibbyson. “Aww hi there little one,” cooed
Tikki at the kitten. “Do you want to play with your brothers and sisters?” The
mother cat answered with a ransom squawk. “What was that for?” asked Tikki. A
small ladybug appeared in Tikki’s vision and landed on her red arm. “A
ladybug!” she exclaimed. “I haven’t seen one in ages.” Tikki noticed that the
window was still open. The ladybug flew off her arm towards the kittens.
Gibbyson was pawing at the insect and the mother cat talked in a gibberish language.
Focusing back on the task, Tikki whirled around the corner. “Marinette, we have
to hurry!” “Tikki!” said Marinette, looking up from the floor. “Finally! Time
to transform! Tikki, spots on!” Tikki flew into her earring and Marinette’s
clothes transformed into her red bodysuit with black spots. It felt good to
have her yo-yo back in her hands. She straightened her spotted face mask and
searched the house.
Plagg
slowly turned his head toward the giant cat in front of him. The tag on his
collar read “Sylvester.” “I sense someone else here,” Sylester muttered,
sniffing the air. “Who dares interrupt my nap?” “Sorry,” said Plagg. “I was
having a cat nap too.” “Get out!” he hissed, barring his two sharp fangs and
open mouth. Plagg barely flinched.
“Wow,”
Plagg said. “I never thought anything could smell as strong as camembert. I
think your breath took the prize.”
“Who
are you?” asked the giant cat.
“I’m
Plagg,” he answered. “Just came here to chill out, have some fun.” “Get lost,”
Sylvester spat.
“I
already know my way around here,” retorted Plagg. Sylvester growled. “Everyone
just loves to annoy me don’t they? First, it was that scaredy-cat Gibson, than
that b*tch Shelby, then those kittens and now you. What a bunch of a**holes.”
Plagg
stared back blankly. “Last time I checked, I wasn’t a donkey trapped in a pit.”
“F*ck off!” Sylvester hissed, hair rising from his back. He swiped at Plagg and
missed. He chased after the flying kwami who mentioned “I’m single. I don’t
plan on doing that!”
“What
in the world?” asked Adrien as he watched the frenzied cat rush through the
house. “What’s going on?” Steve asked. “Oh, your cat must have found the
mouse,” said Adrien. “I’m going to check it out…” “No strangers in my house
please. I’ll deal with the situation.” “Can I stay a little longer? I…” Adrien
looked to see Steve’s YouTube logo on his laptop: a black cat beside a guitar
on an orange background. The words “Talking Kitty Cat” filled up the rest of
the icon. “I’m a fan of your music and
videos and I wanted an autograph?” An awkward silence ensured. “So you are one
of those crazy fans? Look, I appreciate your support for my work, but I still
cannot allow a stranger in my house without permission.” Though anxious inside,
Adrien did not back down. “Alright, I will give you an album and a signed
poster, but you must promise that you will not stalk me again.” “Promise,”
Adrien said, trying not to squeal in delight that his act had worked so well.
“Wait here, I’ll go get those for you after I finish my song.” “Thank you,”
Adrien said. As soon as he left, Adrien dashed after the black cats.
Sylvester
ignored the gibber gabber from random mother cat and jumped onto the counter,
not caring about the glass of milk that he knocked to the floor. “What is this
stuff?” asked Plagg. He held a bag of some kind of green herb. He flew inside
and held a piece to his nose. “Smells kinda good…” “My catnip, you d*ck!” cried
Sylvester in rage. He leaped up and tore a hole in the top of the bag with a
claw swipe. “Uh oh,” said Plagg, ducking to dodge the blow. He flew out of the
bag and carried it with him, narrowly avoiding Sylvester’s paws as they sliced
through the air. The chase continued all over the kitchen and Sylvester made
sure that no plates or cups would get in his way. The crashing china frightened
the kittens who scurried away to the safety of their beds. The mother cat
casually followed them, still making the same sounds. With a pounce, Sylvester
landed squarely on the bag, the force causing it to burst open all over the
floor. Sylvester flew in the air, but flipped before touching the ground. He
braced himself for another attack, but Sylvester was focused intensely on the
stimulating herb before him. After sniffing and taking a bite, Sylvester was
soon rolling happily in the catnip. “See Plagg gag! This stuff is the best.
Better than that cheese you like!” “I doubt that,” said Plagg crossing his
paws. He stared at the stuff on the ground, and briefly wondered if it tasted
as good as it smelled. ‘Well it is called catnip. Maybe it would be fine for a
cat kwami too? Might as well try something new after a thousand years…’
Adrien
stared at the messy floor before him, an appalled look on his face. Fortunately,
no one had stepped on the pieces of broken glass. It was also surprising that
Steve hadn’t heard the ruckus. What was more shocking was his kwami opening his
mouth to the catnip. “Plagg, claws out!” commanded Adrien. This time, the
action worked; Plagg was sucked into Adrien’s silver ring before he could taste
the herb drug. Before long, Adrien was Chat Noir again, in his black bodysuit,
pole at his side, pointed black ears, and a belt tail to complete the look. He
turned around and saw… “Ladybug?” he asked, stunned. “Where is Marinette?” “She
went outside to try and find a way out of this world,” she explained. “Um, I
taught her some self- defense moves and explained what the portals look like,
should one of them appear.” “Good thinking, my lady,” smiled Chat Noir. He bent
down to kiss her hand, but Ladybug pulled away. “Not so fast, kitty. We still
need to find Adrien.” She moved down the hall, but Chat Noir held her back.
“Um, I’m sure Adrien is safe and sound. He…went to listen to Steve Cash play
his guitar.” Sure enough, a faint strumming of strings could be heard from
another room.
“Okay,”
Ladybug said. “Let’s come up with a plan…” “Wait, said Chat Noir. A
gut-wrenching feeling came over him. “Did you destroy Timebreaker’s roller
skates when she was knocked out?” “I thought destroying things was your job,”
mentioned Ladybug. “Your lucky charm wand could have been used to break them,”
Adrien added. “The force knocked it out of my hands! You could have destroyed
the skates if you hadn’t touched the concrete first!” Ladybug argued. “I was
trying to trip her so you could grab the skates!” Adrien leaned his head in,
with a growl that almost turned into a hiss. Ladybug leaned her head in return
so that they were face to face. “Well maybe you shouldn’t have been so blind
that you would miss the portal that was right there in front of us!” “You want
a catfight?” Chat Noir asked. “Bring it, you little bugger,” she retorted.
Before either of their fists could clash, a faint noise could be heard. “I
heard something,” whispered Chat Noir, his cat ears picking up the sound. “Oh,
so I suppose you are seeing things and hearing things now?” Ladybug asked. “No,
I’m serious, listen.” Both went silent as they listened. After a moment of
silence, a ghostly moan echoed through the air. “I don’t like the sound of
that,” said Chat Noir. “Me neither, but I think we should check it out. It
could be a portal appearing and that Steve cash guy could be in danger.” “If
you say so,” said Chat Noir. They both took a deep breath and walked down the
hall.
Chat
Noir reached for the light switch, but the light would not turn on. “How
typical,” he sighed. “Good thing I can see in the dark.” The guitar sounds
coming from the other room dragged on in a continuous beat, different from the
faster upbeat patterns that were heard earlier. They entered a large basement
room that seemed to be a playroom for pets; cat toys littered the floor,
scratching posts stood at attention in a corner and bowls of food and water
were stationed here and there. The place even came with a carpeted gray floor,
a small doghouse, and several squeaky toys. The rest of the room had places for
storage, and a small recording studio off to the side. “Todd…Todd…” moaned the
voice. Ladybug started to shiver. “Okay, no big deal,” she said to herself. “I’ve
fought monsters, dinosaurs and villains. What harm could an akumatized ghost
do?” “Help…help…Todd…” said the voice. The voice didn’t sound particularly
menacing; on the contrary, it had an edge of fear…and a sound similar to a
meow. Were their kwami’s allowing the superheroes to hear the strange sounds?
Or was this a scare tactic from another hidden villain? “Who is Todd?” asked
Chat Noir curiously. “I’m not sure,” said Ladybug, “but right now we should
be…” “Trying to escape?” asked a voice. A shadowed feminine figure appeared in
the white-blue light of the portal that suddenly appeared. The light blinked on
and sure enough, it was Timebreaker. Chat Noir ran the other way, only to find
another Timebreaker blocking the way. “I don’t think so,” she said. The two
clones held up their wrists, which showed two unbroken watches. “Time’s up
heroes,” they said at the same time. “Hey, don’t steal my puns,” Chat Noir complained.
The
two Timebreakers lunged at the heroes, who dodged their attacks and pushed them
back. Ladybug threw her yo-yo at one of them. It bounced off her green visor
and made her stumble back. The other Timebreaker did acrobatic flips to dodge Adrien
who was spinning his silver stick. Timebreaker’s gloved hand was a millimeter away
from Ladybug’s face. Thankfully, she had missed. “Be careful, Chat Noir!”
called Ladybug. “Don’t let them touch you!” “Got it!” he said. With a grunt, he
lunged himself in the air, using his stick like a javelin. Chat Noir flew
through the air, nearly hitting his head on the ceiling. Bam! He knocked her to
the ground with his foot. He picked her up and flung her forward. She screamed
as she flew headfirst into the portal and disappeared out of view. “Well, looks
like it’s two on one now,” said Chat Noir with a grin. “Look out!” cried
Ladybug. Too late. The first Timebreaker had snuck up behind Chat Noir and
touched him. Chat Noir froze in shock and his body started to disappear.
Timebreaker
seemed lost in thought, as if listening to orders from someone else. She then
reached out her hand toward Chat Noir’s ring. “Oh no you don’t” said Ladybug.
Her yo-yo wrapped around her hand and Ladybug pulled back with a tug.
Timebreaker fell to the ground where Chat Noir was moments before. She grinned
and got up. “Give me your miraculous, Ladybug!” The other Timebreaker emerged
from the portal. ‘This is not good,’
she thought. There was only one thing to do. “Lucky charm!” she called, throwing her yo-yo
in the air. The item that dropped into her hands was… “A whistle?” she asked in
confusion. “Let’s get her!” said the Timebreakers, getting ready to charge.
Ladybug looked around for clues on how to use the item. A flash of red and
spots appeared on the whistle, the stairs, a toy ball, and a nearby jump rope. ‘I’ve got it!’
Ladybug
ran to the basement stairs and blew the whistle as hard as she could. A
clinging sound grew louder, along with the sound of footsteps. A barking dog
and a kindle of kittens bounded down the steps. “Shelby!” said Ladybug. She
bent down and picked up a ball, piping Shelby’s interest. “Catch this,
Timebreaker!” yelled Ladybug. Timebreaker caught the ball in confusion. “Is
that the best you’ve got…argh!” She was knocked down by the black Labrador who
was now licking her visor and grabbing the ball in her mouth. The other Timebreaker
rushed towards her, but she used a sharp kick to the side to knock her out of
the way. The Timebreaker under Shelby tried to get up, but lost her footing on
her roller skates. She landed with a thud on the carpet. “Maybe next time,
choose some different footwear,” said Ladybug. She took off one of her roller
skates and broke it. A dark purple butterfly fluttered out of it.
The
other Timebreaker charged at her again, but tripped over the jump rope that
Ladybug held out in front of her. She took off a roller skate and broke it in
half as well. Another purple moth flew out. “No more evil doing for you, little
akuma.” Ladybug swung her yo-yo around and launched it forward. “Time to de-evilize!”
With a single swipe, the akuma was trapped in her yo-yo in a burst of light. “Gotcha!”
said Ladybug. She pushed a button on her yo-yo and a white butterfly flew out. “Bye-bye
little butterfly.”
Ladybug
almost threw her object in the air when she remembered the other akuma. “Where
is it?” she asked frantically. She could not find it anywhere in the room in
the basement. She turned to Shelby. Make sure they don’t escape.” Shelby barked
in affirmation. The little kittens went up the stairs toward the kitchen.
Ladybug decided to follow them. The akuma was flying around Sylvester who was
still lost in his own world of hallucinations. “So many butterflies,” said
Sylvester. “You’re annoying, die!” Sylvester blindly swiped the akuma that was
trying to get into a nearby object. That object was the broken bag of catnip. “B*tch
of a son! No touching my catnip!” “No more evil doing for you, little akuma,”
said Ladybug again, getting her yo-yo ready. The dark purple mass was beginning
to spread toward Sylvester. “Time to de-evilize!” Squash! The akuma exploded in
a puddle of black liquid under Sylvester’s paw. Ladybug gasped at what she had
just witnessed. Immediately, Sylvester started lapping up the remains. “Don’t
do that, you nasty kitty! You’ll get sick!” The yo-yo glowed white and the
tattered akuma disappeared in white light. A beeping sound emitted from Ladybug’s
earrings. “Almost out of time. Miraculous Ladybug!” she called, throwing the
whistle in the air. The whistle disappeared in a shower of sparkly magenta
light that spread out in all directions. All the damage that had been caused
during the fight and the kitchen chase was repaired in an instant when the
sparkly light passed over. The magic engulfed Ladybug and the villains, transporting
them up in the air, out of sight. One of the kittens in the basement started at
the blueish portal curiously, but thankfully, it closed and vanished. Back
upstairs, Steve Cash walked into the kitchen, with a poster and CD in hand.
“Hey kid, I have your poster and album…ready?” He found the now-repaired
kitchen empty save for a certain cat still rolling on the floor in a trance,
eyes dilated. “Sylvester!” he scolded. “How did you get into that catnip?”
Back
in Paris at the school, the magic safely deposited Ladybug and Chat Noir back
at the racetrack. The two Timebreakers were gone. In their place was a girl
with short dark pink hair wearing a black helmet. Alix was kneeling on the ground.
“What? What happened?” she groaned. “Pound it!” said the superheroes with a
fist bump. Alix slowly got up and looked down at the ground. “My watch!” she
exclaimed, rolling over to pick it up. “It’s fixed! Thank you. I never should
have given it to someone else to look after. It was my responsibility.” Ladybug
remembered Alix giving her watch to Alya so she could finish the race. However,
the watch had gotten into Chole’s hands and she had accidently dropped it. Alix
had accidently rolled over it with her roller skates. “It’s okay,” said
Ladybug. “Thanks again. See you around,” said Alix as she went off to meet her
classmates. Chat Noir hoped over next to Ladybug. “Glad there are no more
Timebreakers around,” he said. “Yes, and Ladybug will also not be around. Gotta
split before I change back.” She propelled herself with her yo-yo and flew off.
Adrien sighed. “Ladybug will love me someday. It’s just a matter of time.”
Meanwhile,
in a hidden metallic basement, a masked super villain seethed in anger. “My...my
butterfly, eaten by another crazy cat! I was so close to victory, yet those
superheroes and pets ruined it!” The images that he was watching from the
inside of his magic staff, faded away. “You slipped by me this time, Ladybug and
Chat Noir, but one day, past, present, or future, or wherever world you went
to, you will be destroyed and I will have your miraculouses and I will be
unstoppable!”
